Violin dorks meet kindred spirits

I classify myself as a violin dork :)

Therefore I love meeting and talking to other violin dorks that share my passion for this wooden box. Violin dorks understand each other´s passion, dreams, desires, victories and frustrations connected to this little wooden box.

This inevitably leads to the fact that violin dorks seek each other out. They are attracted to each other and gather around in order to enthusiastically discuss everything connected to this wooden box.

I was really reminded of this when I last saw my little cousins. One of them recently started playing Suzuki violin along with her dad and since then, everytime we meet we always launch into enthusiastic conversation regarding my cousins progress, the music she listens to, violin technique, Suzuki method and anything else connected to the violin.

The same happens when I meet a friend of mine that´s also a fellow violin dork. We never meet without discussing a number of matters concerning our violins, violin music, repetorie, regular violin whining, how much we dislike classical and romantic violin music, excessive use of vibrato, our favourite violinist and the list goes on :)

I can only laugh at the absurdity of having enthusiastic violin conversation everytime I meet a fellow violinist but I guess that´s just a part of being a violin dork.

Ps: Regarding my last blog, I do enjoy Clementi a lot, I play my favourite Clementi sonatina almost everyday :)

You are not alone... Put two violinists (that happen to really be passionated about their instrument because beeing a musician of any level doesn't guarenty big musical passion or musical love) together to talk and you'll 100% have that kind of conversation. A stop button would be necessary to stop them... Yes it's very funny when we think about it : )
