We are often asked on threads to share recordings of our own playing, and I thought I would share some archival recordings from last Friday's performance, where we performed a concert entirely dedicated to works by Bach and Händel. We decided to feature, in addition to arias with violin and keyboard, the fourth sonata for violin by Bach and the fourth sonata for violin and keyboard by Händel. Both works mark the mid-point of each composer's cycle and yet, they couldn't be more different from each other.
This concert had a beautiful feeling of oneness and love with the music, each other and the audience which made it for me, the most memorable of the season. I am also including our performance of "Erbarme dich" from the Saint Matthew Passion by Bach, simply because it is just such an amazing masterpiece and it was a privilege to finally get an opportunity to play it.
Cheers!
