Jeremy Blackman

An ex-professional violinist and violin teacher from Melbourne and Ballarat, Australia who occasionally moonlights. Now living in Hepburn Springs, 90 minutes drive from Melbourne.

Improviser with a classical soul. Particularly interested in Bluegrass, Cajun, Celtic, Klezmer, improvisation, and chamber ensembles, especially string quartets.

I play a 1945 Nelson Oliver violin (early 20th century local Melbourne maker, this instrument is one of the violins of a string quartet made from the same wood); and I use a bow made by John Fedje.

Check out my YouTube channel for Bluegrass and a Sting cover:

Soundcloud for some Bluegrass:

And my band Hive Park’s debut pop/folk album called “Things we should have said...” on iTunes, Spotify etc.
