A Room of Her Own

This album is a follow-up to the group's album, Her Voice (2019), which features the music of women composers Louise Farrenc, Amy Beach, and Rebecca Clarke. "A Room of Her Own" focuses on two generations of women composers: Cécile Chaminade and Ethel Smyth who were born in 1857 and 1858 respectively, as well as Germaine Tailleferre and Lili Boulanger, who were born in 1892 and 1893. A gorgeous recording of works by Giovanni Bottesini, Jules Massenet, Paul Hindemith, Vilmos Montag, Felix Mendelssohn, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and César Franck, produced double bassist Mikyung Sung and pianist Jaemin Shin while they were Artist Diploma candidates at the Colburn School and during the year afterward.
